This short tour of Burgundy is the perfect combination of
Bourgogne's most important treasured assets: wine, cuisine,
and heritage. You will explore the most important town in
Burgundy's wine industry: Beaune. You can choose your travel
dates, it is available all year long, and staying in Beaune
is a worthwhile visit year round! This program is the perfect add-on to a stay in Paris and includes a complete hands on cooking class in a professional kitchen as well as time to discover the great wines of Burgundy. |

Day
1: Arrival at Beaune. Upon arrival at the train station in
Beaune, take a taxi to your hotel. Check in and orientation with our
local English-speaking contact. Afterwards you’ll have some free
time to visit Beaune, known as the capital city of wine in Burgundy!
Maybe you could start with a visit of the Wine Museum, which is in the
former mansion of the Dukes of Burgundy. Dinner included in town, night
in a 3* centrally-located hotel . (D)
Day 2: Discover the specialities of Beaune
and its region
After breakfast you’ll have some free time to visit Beaune on
your own before a visit of the famous Hôtel-Dieu at 11:00am.
Another must see in Beaune is the Collegiale Notre Dame Basilica,
built in the 12th and 13th centuries, a good example of Romanesque
architecture. View the 15th-century tapestries, a variety of stained
glass, and frescoes depicting the life of Lazarus.
Lunch on your own.
In the afternoon, get your walking shoes on for a treasure hunt around
the city! You will enjoy this fun afternoon and discover the history
of Beaune and the Burgundy region, taste local wines, cheeses, cream
of cassis. And, like any good treasure hunt, you’ll find your
treasure at the end of the trail! Dinner in town and night in the
same hotel. (B,D)
Day 3: Cooking Day
After breakfast we’ll transfer you to a small village outside
of Beaune for your private cooking class! You’ll have coffee
with the chef and then will start your hands-on cooking class! You’ll
then have lunch consisting of the courses you cooked during your class
(drinks included). At the end of the lesson, you’ll leave with
the recipes and a diploma!
Afterwards, wine tasting and transfer back to Beaune. Dinner on your
own night at same hotel. (B)
Day 4: Vineyards and Sightseeing
This morning we’ll transfer you to the heart of the vineyards
for a nice walk and visit of the Château du Clos de Vougeot,
famous Chateau built by Cistercian monks with wine presses dating
from the Middle ages. Next, you’ll have a wine tasting in a
domain located in between the Côte de Beaune and the Côte
de Nuits vineyards. Return transfer to Beaune for lunch and afternoon
on your own. Dinner included in a local restaurant for your last night.
