I have been crying ever since I returned. The French lifestyle is one I should be leading. As a matter of fact, we all should have this lifestyle. Now I fully understand the "French Paradox". Please send me back!!!

DAY 1 DAY 2-4

Day 2 – Day 4: In three riding days, you can choose from several itineraries, the following itineraries are examples. We can also suggest some longer, more challenging rides for those interested.

This format allows for people of all abilities to come along, including non-riding participants. We can suggest visits by car and arrange spa treatments among many possible ways to spend an exciting day in the Avignon area!

-- DAY 2: Canoe & Pont du Gard: We will come to meet you and do an orientation to get you well started on your activities. Meet at the hotel at 9am. Then, we will drive you (and your group) to Collias where you can start a canoe trip. We will transfer you with your bikes so after the canoe trip you can return back to the hotel by bike. This is your day to see the Pont du Gard, the 2000+ year old Roman aquaduct spanning the Gardon River on which you will canoe! The Pont du Gard is a marvel of history and a nice ride by bicycle through fragrant Provence approximately 31 km.

- - DAY 3: Loop to Chateauneuf du Pape (58 km): This charming wine village just to the north of Avignon is a perfect first ride. It is flat and picturesque with vines surrounding the old town of Chateauneuf. You have all day and mostly flat terrain to cover and a lunch in Chateauneuf with the local product is highly recommended before visting and return to Avignon.

- - DAY 4: Loop to Barbentane and Graveson, 42km : This loop trip travels to the south of Avignon to visit these charming villages and where you can stop and visit the Abbey of Saint Michel de Frigolet from the 10th century.

- Suggestions for non-riders: as you are so close to sites in central Avignon, there are numerous activities: Palais des Papes (Popes Palace), Avignon Bridge, walking the old streets of Avignon and visiting museums, or especially the arts. In July, the Festival of Avignon is a huge performing arts program at multiple venues. Day trips by minivan are easily arranged by us as well to lavender sites, olive presses, and villages of the Luberon and beyond.
